Bohemian Kings X Swan song - Tap gallery

Synopsis
2004 was the last kings cross festival organised by the Kings Cross Arts Guild.
I was lucky enough to interview the famous bohemian artists still alive at that time since then over half of these interviewees have passed.
This 30 minute documentary is a testament to their work and their place in the history of Kings Cross Bohemian Artists.
It holds space for them and their view on the gentrification of Kings Cross during the laying of the plaques.
Please see the credits for the list of artists interviewed and their late artist friends of this magical time in the under mentioned Kings Cross ArtHistory between 1970-90 and onwards

L.O.L. IN CABARET

Sat 21st January 2023       7PM Sharp

Linda Lovechild Presents L.O.L. in Cabaret

Protest Singer Linda Lovechild and L.O.L. (Little Old Lady) at the beginning of their whirlwind world tour in an irreverent and bawdy Cabaret.

Linda is famous for single-handedly singing Tony Abbot out of office by busking in the grounds of the Manly Public School on election day in 2019. In the first half of the show Linda will be performing her original songs such as “Protesters Picnic”, The Westconnex song, “As Cars Go By” and parodies of Bob Dylan – “Don’t Vote For Them” and AC/DC’s “Dirty Deals Done Dirt Cheap” about NSW property developers

In the second half, L.O.L. the mad cat lady takes the stage to sing “My Hips Are Getting Bigger”, a whinge about menopause, “Budgie Smugglers”, a poem about a woman who hides her husband’s swimsuit, a parody of a song from The Full Monty Soundtrack, “You Can Leave Your Socks On” about an old man who performs a striptease for his wife, and a risque song based on Sonny and Cher’s 1965 hit I’ve got You Babe, re-named “I’ve got Lube Babe”.

L.O.L.will also be sharing her fashion and beauty tips with anybody who will listen.

Altogether an unforgettable night of song and stand up comedy.
