Michael was a unique performer once heard never forgotten. He wrote gorgeous, lush songs with lyrical poetic words that soothed and uplifted. He was also a strident voice for social justice. His soaring voice amazed and enthralled all the more astonishing that he had a double lung transplants to heal his cystic fibrosis. His love of people and his wish to connect was a beautiful part of this incredible performer and incredible human. We need to enjoy his songs again and this will be a lovely way to do it. Artists such as opera singer Michael Handy, Christina Mimmocchi trio and Miguel Heatwole solo/with Judy Van de Klei and the Sydney Irish Ceili Dancers will make this a memorable night of beautiful songs and dance and love and respect for Michael and his contribution to the rich tapestry that is the folk scene in Australia.
