The natural environment and local history are themes that underpin Christine’s work.
A fascination for water and the changing landscape, and her passion for the Sydney bush are unmistakable in her art practice
and profession as a landscape architect.
Through her use of oil on canvas; she re-interprets her research and dreamlike impressions to develop a series of related works to tell her stories.
Rough textures, vivid colours and a strong ‘sense of movement’ of air and water are dominant.
CHRIS BARWICK’s first solo show -16th August
Hi my name is Chris. I began painting in December 2009.I am also an actor with the milk crate theatre and after we performed our last show for the year I got bored and needed something to do. Some people suggested that I do a painting. I told them I have no talent there.
Then one day in December 2009 I had an idea for a painting so I asked the coordinator at Mission Australia to get me a canvas. My first painting was the first of my anti smoking series.
I suddenly became a prolific painter. I have became addicted to painting and I still haven’t gotten around to any lessons as yet. I have now been painting for 20 months and I have produced around 50 paintings in this time.Since starting painting my life has changed for the better .
I now have an outlet for my creativity and imagination. Before I started acting and painting I was lost in the abyss of drugs and alcohol. Now my life has a purpose and a greater meaning for me. I enjoy being an artist now, as it has changed me for the better. I encourage all people to find what makes them happy in life.

Kerrie Erwin is a professional psychic medium who has the ability to connect people to loved ones who have passed over. With her accurate messages, Kerrie is able to bring not only closure but healing.

The show and book launch will be on the 23rd September from 8pm-10pm.
She will be working with psychic artist Kathryn Baker and performing with the Sisters in the Divine, two musical mediums from Melbourne.
